Things to do
Lummi Island is a place for bicyling the road network (bring your own bike), birding, hiking on the various trails on the Otto Reserve, reading, lying back, examining your eye lids and similar low stress activities. Boats can be launched for $20 per day at the launch ramp on Legoe Bay. The facility is privately owned. Call Mark Cross at 360-758-2883 for details.There is a stretch of public beach that can be accessed through the Community Church parking lot and at a very tiny county park just across the street from the Beach Store Restaurant. For the sailing enthusiast Captain Charlie DeWeese provides single evening and longer cruises on his classic 50' sailboat "Happy Talk". You can get full information at http://www.sailaway.net.

Restaurants
There are three island dining establishments available for lunch and dinner. The Beach Store Cafe is close to the ferry landing. Relatively economical lunches and dinners with beer and wine are available. The Willows Inn provides upscale dining. A typical menu can be perused at http://www.willows-inn.com/Menu.htm. Reservations are recommended. The Taproot Pub, managed by Deanna and Herb Iverson, is located below The Willows Inn and serves a variety of sandwiches, soups, wine, beer and mixed drinks. A full dinner is served two nights a week.

Island Facilities
The Islander is the island's single convenience store selling some groceries, spirits and sundries. Attached to the store is The Sisters Gift Shop which deals in crafts and other gifts made by Lummi Island Artists. The island also has a post office, one fine dining restaurant, one cafe and one pub, a Grange Hall, two churches and a Whatcom County Branch Library which is opened limited hours. There is no gasoline for sale on the island.
